PadiQ — Terms of use
1. Who we are
PadiQ is run by Lumavex Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17225895), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can contact us at info@lumavex.io.
These terms are an agreement between you and Lumavex Ltd. They apply when you use the PadiQ app and padiq.app.
2. Who can use PadiQ
- PadiQ is currently for players aged 18 and over. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- One account per person. Use your real first name.
- Keep your login details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
3. What PadiQ does
PadiQ finds you padel games. You tell us when you can play, and we put together a group of four players we think will have an even, enjoyable game. Your group then arranges the court in the game chat.
- We work hard to find good games, but we can't promise that a game will be found, that every player will turn up, or that a game will go the way you hope.
- You book courts directly with the venue or its booking service. PadiQ isn't part of that booking and isn't responsible for venues, their prices or their cancellations.
- Padel is a physical sport and carries a risk of injury. Only play if you're fit to do so.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
4. Playing fair
- Turn up for games you've confirmed. If you can't make it, cancel in the app as early as you can.
- Repeated no-shows or very late cancellations can mean we pause new games for you for a while. You'll see a message in the app, and you can tell us if you think we've got it wrong.
- Give honest answers about your game, and honest feedback after games.
5. Community rules
In game chats and everywhere else on PadiQ, you must not:
- harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone;
- post sexual content, or make sexual comments or advances towards other players;
- post hateful content about people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity;
- send spam, advertising or scams, or try to get money or personal details from other players;
- share someone else's personal information without their permission;
- post anything illegal, or encourage anyone to do something illegal;
- pretend to be someone else.
How we deal with illegal content:
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation: we have zero tolerance. We remove it at once, close the account and report it to the relevant authorities.
- Terrorism content: we remove it at once, close the account and report it to the relevant authorities.
- Other illegal content, such as threats, harassment, hate and fraud: we remove it as quickly as we can once we know about it, and we may suspend or close the account.
How we check messages automatically:
We automatically check each chat message against a short list of words and phrases that break these rules, such as threats and slurs. The check looks for whole words and happens when you press Send. If a message contains one of them, it isn't sent, and you're asked to reword it. No person reads your messages as part of this check. Every decision on reports, suspensions and closed accounts is made by a person.
6. Reporting and blocking
- You can report a message or a player. Press and hold a message in the game chat, or tap a player in the game's player list. Choose a reason and, if you like, add a few words.
- The player you report is never told who reported them, or that a report was made.
- We review reports within 24 hours. A report never leads to action on its own: a person at PadiQ decides. We may remove content, suspend an account or close it.
- You can block a player. You won't be put in games together again, and you won't see their messages. They won't be told.
- If you report a player you have a booked game with, you can leave that game without it counting against you.
- If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or 112 in the EU.
7. Illegal and harmful content, and complaints
- When we find or are told about content that breaks these terms or the law, we remove it as quickly as we can.
- If we remove your content or suspend your account, we'll tell you in the app. You can appeal by emailing info@lumavex.io from the email address you use for PadiQ. Tell us why you think the decision was wrong. We'll look at it again and reply within 7 days.
- You can also complain to us at info@lumavex.io about content you think is illegal, about how we handle reports, or about these terms.
8. Suspending and closing accounts
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other players.
- While your account is suspended you can still log in and read your chats, but you can't send messages, ask for games or accept game suggestions. Your upcoming games are cancelled for you. A suspension lasts until we lift it.
9. What you write
- What you write is yours. You allow us to store it and show it to the other players in the game, so that we can run PadiQ.
- Messages you've sent stay visible to the other players in that game chat if you delete your account, without your name. Our privacy policy explains this.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. It happens straight away and can't be undone. You can also email info@lumavex.io from the email address you use for PadiQ. See padiq.app/delete-account.
11. Price
PadiQ is free to use at the moment. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you first, and you'll choose whether to pay.
12. Changes
We may change PadiQ and these terms. If we make an important change to the terms, we'll tell you in the app before it applies and ask you to accept the new version.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
